Training

• Selected candidates shall be required to pass the prescribed training. The duration of Basic Training shall be 09 months, of which the foundational training shall be of 06 months, duration and specialized training shall be of 03 months duration. The 03 months duration specialized training shall comprise of sniper, BDDS, AS Check and commando trainings etc, as may be determined by the Training Headquarters on the request of and in co-ordination with the Head of the Department. In case, any selected candidate does not report for the training within the prescribed time limit, his candidature shall stand cancelled.
• The syllabus and place of basic training of the selected candidates and refresher coursed for the members of the force and other specialized  training shall be determined by the Training Headquarters on the request of and in co-ordination with the Head of the Department.
• For the cadets that fail in Basic Training, the Head of the Department shall organize a re-examination after imparting Supplementary Training, the Appointing Authority shall initiate  proceedings to terminate the services of such candidates.

• Refresher Training:-

Post basic training, a Refresher Training of 06 weeks duration shall be imparted every 05 years. There shall be an annual medical examination and annual firing practice. Those who fail in firing examination shall be given one more opportunity but failing in the retest shall result in initiation of disciplinary proceedings against him. The candidates appointed by promotion under rule 12 shall have to successfully complete the training prescribed by the Head of the Department.
