For Emergency!
(1) The Force shall be constituted to have Headquarter of the force, Sector offices and Battalions. The constitution of the Battalion shall be based on a primary unit called the “Team”. Apart from strength of persons in various posts to discharge essential function at the Battalion headquarters level, a Battalion shall consist of General and Special Teams, Security Team, Personal Protection Team, Quick Response Team, Training Reserve Team and Battalion Duty Team shall come under General Teams while BDDS (Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad) / Dog Squad Teams, AS (Anti Sabotage) check Teams, Snipers and MT (Motor Transport ) Section shall come under Specialized Teams.
(2) At the commencement of these rules, 06 Battalions shall be raised as may be notified by the State Government. Constitution of the Headquarters of the Force shall be as prescribed in rule7.
(3) Save as aforesaid:-
(a) The strength of a Battalion consisting of supervisory officers, subordinate officers and members and their strength on each post in a Battalion of the Force, shall be such as the State Government may, after consideration of proposal submitted by the Head of the Department and recommended by Director General police, approve from time to time as per requirement;
(b) the Commandant /Head of Office, in view of operational necessities may alter the posts and the strength thereof of different Teams for the deployment purposes, on approval of the Head of the Department;
( c) The Appointing Authority may leave a vacant post unfilled or the Governor may keep it in abeyance, on account of which no person shall have any right to any kind of remedy or redress;
(d) for the effective operation of the Force, the State Government may create any permanent and/or temporary posts as it deems fit.
Structure of the Force and the hierarchical strength of the members shall be as prescribed in rule 4. The members of the Force shall be in different categories in various ranks as mentioned below:-
(1) Gazetted Officers:-
(a) Additional Director General of Police;
(b) Inspector General of Police;
(c) Deputy Inspector General of Police;
(d)Superintendant of Police / Commandant;
(e) Additional Superintendant of Police / Assistant Commandant / Adjutant.
(2) Non-Gazetted Officers:-
(a) Executive force:
(i) Quartermaster, Special Security Force (for Headquarter);
(ii) Inspector, Special Security Force;
(iii) Subedar Quartermaster, Subedar Adjutant Special Security Force;
(iv) Sub-Inspector, Special Security Force;
(v) Head Constable, Special Security Force; and
(vi)Constable, Special Security Force.
(b) Assistant Staff:
(I) Ministerial Cadre
(i)Police Sub-Inspector (Ministerial);
(ii) Police Sub-Inspector (confidential);
(iii) Police sub-Inspector (confidential);
(iv) Assistant Police Sub-Inspector (Ministerial);
(v) Assistant police Sub-Inspector (Accounts).
(II) Motor Transport Cadre
(i) Sub-Inspector Motor Transport;
(ii) Head constable Motor Transport;
(iii) Constable Driver; and
(iv)Constable dispatch Rider.
(III) Armorer /Bugler Cadre
(i) Head constable Armorer;
(ii) constable Armorer; and
(iii) Constable Bugler
(IV)Class Four (Group ‘D’)
(V) Radio Branch
(i) Radio Inspector;
(ii) Radio Center /Maintenance Officer;
(iii) Head Operator / head Operator / Head
Operator (Mechanical);
(iv)Assistant Operator;
(v) Workshop Assistant; and
(vi) Messenger.
(VI) Hospital Branch
(i) Medical Officer;
(ii) Pharmacists;
